Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 18, 2026
This policy explains how the Nudge app (“Nudge”, “the app”), published by I Make Things (“we”, “us”), handles information.
Information you enter stays on your device
Nudge lets you enter budget items, income, debts (balances, interest rates, minimum payments), due dates, and related notes. This information is stored only in a database on your device. We do not receive it, and it is not shared with advertising or purchase providers.
Ads
The free version of Nudge shows banner ads served by Google AdMob. To show, measure, and (if you allow it) personalize ads, Google’s advertising software in the app may collect and use information such as your device’s advertising identifier, IP address and the approximate location derived from it, how you interact with ads, and basic app and device diagnostics. This collection is done by Google, under Google’s own policies. We do not send your budget or debt entries to Google.
Your choices. Where required, the app first asks for your consent. In the European Economic Area, the UK, and similar regions, a consent form appears, and without consent the app does not show ads. On iPhone, the app asks permission before tracking you across other companies’ apps and websites, and you can say no and still use the whole app. You can also limit ad personalization or reset your advertising identifier in your phone’s settings (on iPhone under Privacy & Security > Tracking, on Android under Settings > Privacy > Ads). Removing ads with the purchase below stops ads and the ad software from starting.
Removing ads (in-app purchase)
You can remove ads permanently with a one-time in-app purchase. The payment is handled by Apple or Google; we never see your payment details. We use RevenueCat, a purchase-management service, to confirm that a purchase was made and to restore it on your devices. RevenueCat receives purchase information and an anonymous app user identifier, but not your name, email address, or budget data. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy.
Reminders and notifications
If you turn on bill reminders, the app asks your permission to send notifications. Reminders are scheduled on your device itself, without any server. You can turn them off in the app or in your phone’s settings at any time.
What we do not do
- No accounts or sign-in.
- No bank or card connections.
- No selling of your personal information, and no sharing of your budget or debt entries.
Backing up, exporting and deleting your data
Settings has a “Back up my data” button and a CSV export. When you use one, the app opens your phone’s share sheet with your data as text, and you choose where it goes (for example Notes, email or Files). That text goes only where you send it. We do not receive it, and the app does not upload it anywhere. Anyone who can open the place you save it can read it, so keep it somewhere private. “Restore” replaces the app’s data with the backup text you paste in. Your choices for appearance and currency are also stored only on your device.
Deleting the app removes its data from your device. Your phone’s own backup service (such as iCloud or Google backup) may include app data according to your device settings; that is managed by your device provider, not by us. Data held by Google or RevenueCat as described above is governed by their policies.
Children
Nudge is a general-purpose budgeting tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Not financial advice
Nudge is a planning tool. Its results are estimates based on the numbers you enter and are provided for informational purposes only. They are not financial, tax, or legal advice.
Changes to this policy
If the app changes in a way that affects your privacy, we will update this policy and its effective date before the change takes effect.
